Al Shahaniya Sports Club (formerly known as Al Nasr) is located in the Al Shahaniya area, approximately 20 kilometers northwest of Doha. 

The club was originally established in the Al Jameeliya district before moving to its new headquarters in 1998. This relocation was made official by Decision No. (50) issued on December 27, 1998, by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Eid Al Thani, then Chairman of the General Authority for Youth and Sports, under the name Al Nasr Club according to Decision No. 18/1998. 

Initially based in Al Jameeliya, the club moved to its current location in Al Shahaniya in 2001. 

By Decision No. (28) issued on October 19, 2004, the club’s name was officially changed to Al Shahaniya Sports Club.
