Qatar Sports Club, formerly known as Al Esteqlal, was founded in 1961 and is regarded as one of the prominent football clubs in Qatar. The club has achieved significant success over the years, both in terms of competitiveness and winning championships and titles. 

The club’s emblem is distinguished by its yellow and black colors. From its early days, Qatar SC was considered one of the strongest teams, winning the first official football league title in the 1972–1973 season. The club has continued its success, consistently supplying national teams with top athletes across various sports. 

Qatar Sports Club is located in the Dafna area of Doha and features a number of major sports facilities.
